Why Kujira whisky stands out
Made differently, tastes different
Most whisky starts with malted barley. Kujira starts with Indica rice and black koji, the same base used for Awamori, Okinawa's native spirit. That's where the fuller body and deeper amber colour come from. If your shelf is full of the usual single malts, this is the bottle that actually breaks the pattern.
Faster aging, fuller flavour
The subtropical climate pushes maturation faster than cooler whisky regions, so the 5YO already drinks rounded instead of raw. Each bottle ages through sherry, bourbon and virgin white oak casks, and the deeper you go in the range, the richer it gets. Inari and Kyojin pour light and easy. The 10YO and 15YO bring oak and dried fruit. The 25YO and 33YO are slow sippers, the kind you save for the right night.
